Super League injury round-up with Leeds Rhinos and Hull KR men ruled out

Leigh Leopards

Round four of Super League was an entertaining one but it came with a small number of injury concerns, too.

Hull KR were arguably the biggest winners of the round as they moved a point clear at the top of the table after a dominant win over St Helens at the Totally Wicked Stadium. The Robins are now the only side with a 100 per cent record and as the competition pauses for the Challenge Cup, Willie Peters’ side are sitting pretty at the top of the table.

The win seemed to come at a price, though, with Dean Hadley seeing his night end early due to a head knock. He failed a HIA and that means he will sit out of the club’s clash with Oldham this Friday.

Leigh Leopards are the only other unbeaten side remaining in the competition but they saw their winning run come to an end on Thursday as they drew with Hull FC at the MKM Stadium. The result could have been very different had Gareth O’Brien been on the field late on, though, with Leigh being unsuccessful with three drop goal attempts.

O’Brien failed a HIA during the contest and wasn’t on the field in golden point, he’ll sit out of the Cup tie with Batley Bulldogs, too.
Matt Frawley of Leeds Rhinos also failed a HIA with the half-back stepping out of the action at Catalans Dragons on Saturday. The Rhinos were below par in the south of France and they’ll be without Frawley as they look to bounce back against St Helens.

They’ll hope to welcome back Ryan Hall, though, with the winger sitting out of the game on Saturday due to a rib injury.

Abbas Miski was left out of Wigan Warriors’ win over Huddersfield Giants after having some swelling around an old injury on the flight back from Las Vegas, while Patrick Mago missed the game through illness.

Tui Lolohea was named in the starting line up for the Giants but he dropped out just a few minutes before kick-off after complaining about tightness around his chest which was restricting his breathing.
