Super League Injury News: Star man sent to hospital as two struck by hamstring injuries

Round 18 was a huge week in the Betfred Super League season but few could have anticipated the size of some of the results such as the result at Belle Vue as Wigan Warriors headed over to Wakefield Trinity.

That wasn’t the only big game on Friday night with Castleford Tigers hosting Leigh Leopards and Warrington Wolves and St Helens colliding.

Meanwhile, Huddersfield Giants headed over to Catalans Dragons with Leeds Rhinos going to Salford Red Devils and the Hull derby between Hull KR and Hull FC also huge games.

The action started on Friday night with a huge clash between Warrington Wolves and St Helens at the Halliwell Jones.

It was a great game that seemed in the hands of the Wolves as they led 20-12 late in the game after amazing tries from Matty Ashton and Matt Dufty.

However, as the St Helens spine clicked into gear they found two key moments to turn the game on its head and claim the win.

Elsewhere on Friday night there was a huge shock result as Wakefield won in Golden Point against Wigan Warriors to heap the pressure on Castleford Tigers in the relegation battle as they came up short against Leigh Leopards.

Now just two points separate them and Wakefield at the bottom of the league.

Meanwhile, on Saturday Huddersfield Giants, inspired by Olly Russell and Chris McQueen, stunned league leaders Catalans Dragons winning 22-14.

Then on Sunday there were some big wins for Hull FC and Leeds Rhinos in the play-off race.

But how did teams get on in terms of injuries?

Well there were head knocks galore with George Delaney, Mikey Lewis, Kane Linnett and James Donaldson all suffering head injuries.

Tex Hoy meanwhile suffered a worrying hamstring injury which was the same fate for Ethan Havard.

Harvey Livett sadly had to go to hospital with a dislocated elbow.
