Super League Injury News: Some of Super League’s biggest stars face anxious wait

As we head into a week off due to England’s meeting with France on Saturday, Round 10 of the Betfred Super League has concluded.

It started with a huge game as Super League and World Champions St Helens hosted the League Leaders Warrington Wolves.

A brilliant start from the Saints left them 16-0 ahead before a Warrington onslaught hit them. Some how the Saints were able to restrict the Wolves to just six points and in the second half tries from Jon Bennison and Tee Ritson killed off the threat.

On Friday night Hull KR weren’t at their best but tries from Corey Hall and Matt Parcell were enough to down a gutsy Castleford Tigers side in Andy Last’s first game in charge as permanent head coach.

Elsewhere on Friday night, Leeds Rhinos were blown away by Leigh Leopards in the first 20 minutes as Leigh took a 16-0 lead. That did the damage in a 20-6 win.

On Sunday, Salford Red Devils and Catalans Dragons served up a thrilling affair which looked to be heading to golden point when Adam Keighran scored late however he missed the attempt to level matters with the boot.

Wigan Warriors went top of the league with a 22-6 win over Wakefield Trinity with the damage done in the first half. Trinity remain winless.

Hull FC now have six points between them and Trinity at the bottom as they snapped a seven game losing streak to shock Huddersfield Giants as Liam Sutcliffe and Jake Clifford starred.

In terms of injuries, St Helens went into the game without injured stars Mark Percival and Tommy Makinson whilst in Daryl Clark’s first start since his injury he picked up another injury.

The huge hit Joe Westerman suffered from Kane Linnett had Cas checking for facial factures and Andy Last believing it should have been a yellow card.

Lachlan Coote also went off and never came back on.

There is a concern for Leeds with Aidan Sezer and Harry Newman picking up injuries but Newman’s isn’t as bad as first feared.
