Super League Grand Final ticket update as Old Trafford lower bowl sells out for Warrington v Wakefield

With just six days to go until the curtain rises on the Grand Final, tickets for the final showing at Old Trafford have been flying out.

With Warrington Wolves and Wakefield Trinity booking their places in the Grand Final, a new name is set to be on the trophy.

And after an exciting and shocking play-off series, fans of both teams are hoping to witness their team win a first-ever Super League Grand Final trophy.

Old Trafford tickets are flying out across all four stands, with Warrington Wolves confirming that their allocation at the East Stand had sold out on Sunday, September 27.

Meanwhile, Yorkshire hopefuls Wakefield confirmed at lunchtime on the same day that less than 1,000 tickets remained in their allocation at the Stretford End.

The club later confirmed that their initial allocation of 50 coaches for travelling supporters had sold out in just hours.

In a statement posted to their social media, Trinity confirmed they were actively looking to source additional coaches to meet the demand as Wakefield head for their first-ever Grand Final.

Old Trafford set for bumper crowd as lower bowl completely sells out

Old Trafford’s capacity of over 74,000 could be a full house this year, comfortably topping last year’s attendance of 68,000.

The entire lower bowl of the iconic stadium has now sold out with six days to go before the event, prompting Rugby League Commercial to open up higher tiers across the venue to cater to the extraordinary interest.

Neither side has ever lifted the Super League trophy since the summer era began in 1996. While Warrington hold the unwanted record of four previous Grand Final appearances without a victory (2012, 2013, 2016, and 2018), Wakefield Trinity are creating club history by reaching the showpiece event for the very first time.

With both sets of supporters desperate to witness history in the making, Saturday’s decider is shaping up to produce one of the most electric atmospheres in Super League history as the road to Old Trafford reaches its climax.
