Super League forward departs club after five years

Catalans Dragons can confirm Lambert Belmas is leaving the club, with the prop forward out of contract at the end of 2021.

Belmas started playing Rugby League in Carcassonne and joined the club academy in 2015. He then played for the club reserve team in the French competition, making his Super League debut in 2017. Belmas has made 18 appearances for the Dragons.

“I would like to thank the club for these 5 great years and the different coaches I’ve worked with for giving me the opportunity to play in the Super League,” Belmas said.

“I’ve learnt a lot as a player and as a man from that experience with the Catalans Dragons. I have had some very good times, and some bad ones … but that’s the sport.

“I wish the Dragons a lot of success and I hope that they will win this long awaited Super League trophy at the club. “
