Ahead of the 2025 Super League season, fans have made their predictions of who will be the competition’s top try-scorer with signings made by St Helens and Leeds Rhinos favoured by plenty.
Topping the try-scoring charts is a huge individual honour but it’s a feat that is incredibly hard to replicate which makes for potentially bad news for Liam Marshall as the 2024 leader.
The Wigan Warriors winger scored a total of 29 tries in just 28 appearances, highlighting his and Wigan’s dominance. Close behind him was Warrington’s Matty Ashton who had an even more impressive try-per-game ratio of 27 in 25 with the pair clear of Mikey Lewis back on 19.
Both Marshall and Ashton will be contenders to claim the award once again in 2025 but we asked fans who they felt would claim the award and that saw a lot of fresh names, including new signings, thrown up.
Five weeks out from the Super League season, here are the fan predictions for who will be the competition’s top try-scorer.

Plenty were keen to back the reigning top-scorer with Kathleen Williams among those as she stated: “Liam Marshall all day long.”
Sharon Ann was another in Marshall’s camp, adding: “Liam Marshall all the way!”
Even a St Helens fan mentioned Marshall, however, they were quick to back their own new signing from Down Under.
John Hayden argued: “Liam Marshall will be up there and as a Saints fan, I’d like to see Kyle Feldt among the top scorers.”
Feldt bagged 23 in 25 last season highlighting what an elite winger Saints have signed with the veteran winger surpassing the 150-try mark for North Queensland last year.
There were a number of other shouts for Feldt and another NRL recruit – Leeds Rhinos’ Maika Sivo.
Danny Watson tipped the pair to “score a few” whilst the Fijian international was backed by a handful of other fans.
2023 Man of Steel Bevan French also got a number of nods as well as Josh Charnley, who is currently chasing down Ryan Hall to claim the all-time Super League try-scoring record.
Charnley overtook previous record holder Danny McGuire late last season and is just six tries behind Ryan Hall heading into the new campaign.
Paul Manfredi was among those backing him, posting: “Might be worth a punt on Dufty – he works for them. Marshall’s an acrobat and Charnley is a sprinter.”
There was also a sole shout for Adam Swift who scored 11 in ten prior to his injury last year, leading Chris Buchanan to pick the Huddersfield flyer “if he’s fit”.
