Super League disciplinary sees two players banned plus Leeds Rhinos man set or tribunal

Red card Super League disciplinary

Following the third round of Super League, the Match Review Panel have met to bring forward the disciplinary charges with a total of 11 charges handed out.

Round Three of Super League in 2025 will forever be remembered as the round when Super League headed to Las Vegas with Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves doing battle in Sin City.

Both coaches promised entertainment and we certainly got that, even if it wasn’t necessarily a competitive game with Matt Peet’s side winning 48-24, although it had been 42-0 before they took the foot of Wire’s throat.

That loss for Warrington meant they lost their unbeaten start with just three teams on a perfect three from three record. Hull KR cruised to a 42-0 win over Salford Red Devils, St Helens saw off Wakefield Trinity 26-6 and Leigh Leopards compounded Catalans’ miserable start with a 34-6 win,

Elsewhere Hull FC edged Huddersfield 11-10 and Leeds sent club legend Danny McGuire back to Castleford with another defeat as the Rhinos won 38-24.

Amongst those games we saw four sin bins with several Super League players facing nervous waits ahead of today’s Match Review Panel to learn their disciplinary fate.

So far, Salford’s Joe Shorrocks is the only Super League player to be banned under the new disciplinary system where players rack up penalty points instead of immediate bans.

Here are the result’s of today’s Match Review Panel after Round Three of Super League.

Super League disciplinary sees 11 charges including two bans and one referral

A total of 11 charges have been leveled albeit at just 10 players with Castleford’s Jeremiah Simbiken charged twice.

Those two charges, if accepted, will see him land two separate one-match bans meaning he will miss the Tigers’ next two games.

The other payer to be banned is Salford’s Jayden Nikorima for his high shot on Niall Evalds which earned him a Grade B charge, worth five points. However, because Evalds suffered an injury and could not return to the field a further three points are added on, taking his tally to eight which is scope for a one-match ban.

Leeds Rhinos’ Tom Holroyd will head to a disciplinary tribunal after a Grade E charge for Dangerous Contact after he was involved in an incident with Castleford’s George Hill that saw him appear to twist the forward’s arm.

That tribunal will be on the evening of Tuesday March 4th with any other players who appeal their charges also having cases heard.

A further seven players were hit with charges, although none amount to a ban with the most severe being a Grade B which each of Dean Hadley, Jordan Dezaria and Alec Tuitavake landed.
