Super League disciplinary sees 4 players handed bans including Leeds Rhinos star

The Super League disciplinary verdict from Round 20 is in with four players being handed bans from the six games, including a Leeds Rhinos star.

It was a key week in Super League with a new table topper in Hull KR and London Broncos securing just their second win of the season.

Both KR and London put in stellar performances to beat Warrington 22-4 and Catalans Dragons 12-10 respectively.

That win was enough for Hull KR to go ahead of Wigan Warriors, who had defeated Huddersfield 28-14 to go top on Thursday evening, a night that also saw Leigh Leopards beat Castleford Tigers 20-10.

Saturday’s games were just as intriguing with questions over whether St Helens would end their five-game losing streak, a question they answered with a resounding yes as they hammered Hull FC 46-6.

As for the other game, Salford Red Devils solidified their Super League play-off status with a 22-16 win over Leeds Rhinos in a game that saw three yellow cards and flagged the attention of the disciplinary panel.

The findings of the Match Review Panel have now been published with bans handed to four Super League players for their disciplinary misdemeanours.

The Match Review Panel have confirmed their findings with the four suspensions coming from just two games with each of Saturday’s matches accounting for two bans respectively.

Hull FC have seen their pack decimated again through poor disciplinary issues as they’ve lost Brad Fash and Jordan Lane to Grade B charges of ‘Head Contact’, with both forwards copping a one-game penalty notice.

They’ll join Ligi Sao on the sidelines with the prop serving the second game of his two-match ban this week when they club face Leigh Leopards.

The other two bans came from the clash between Salford Red Devils and Leeds Rhinos with just one of the three sin-binned players serving a ban.

That’s Tim Lafai who was hit with a Grade C ‘Head Contact’ charge but will miss just one game, whilst Leeds Rhinos captain Cam Smith will also be banned after being found guilty of ‘Dangerous Contact’.
