The Match Review Panel have met and given their verdict on Super League disciplinary matters after Round 21 and ahead of Magic Weekend.
Four bans were handed out in Round 20 with Cam Smith, Tim Lafai, Jordan Lane and Brad Fash all being handed one-match bans but all four will be back in action for the upcoming Magic Weekend fixtures.
The same probably can’t be said for several other Super League players after a whooping 12 sin bins and one red card was shown throughout the Round 21 fixtures, likely creating a very busy schedule for the disciplinary team to sort out.
Thursday’s game saw St Helens edge Salford 17-16 with four yellows shown, whilst Friday night saw a further three sin bins across the two games as Hull KR beat Castleford and more drop goal drama as Catalans beat Huddersfield 23-22.
Saturday marked the biggest fixture of the Super League round and also the game that will have the biggest disciplinary focus as an ill-disciplined Wigan Warriors lost 30-4 to Leeds Rhinos. Harry Smith saw red and was then shown red after elbowing James Bentley in the face whilst Adam Keighran was also sin-binned.
Sunday’s games saw a further four yellow cards shown as well making for a very busy Match Review Panel. All sin bins from Round 21 can be seen here.
