We’re back to Monday again, meaning Super League clubs are waiting nervously for the RFL Match Review Panel’s Super League disciplinary verdicts.
Last week, it was just three charges despite 17 incidents being investigated, with all three going to Wigan Warriors players.
Kaide Ellis and Sam Walters were handed one-game bans, for Grade B Dangerous Contact and Head Contact respectively, while Luke Thompson just got a £250 fine.
However, later on in the week, Hull FC prop Herman Ese-ese was finally charged after an incident in his side’s loss to London Broncos in Wimbledon earlier this month.
He faces a huge suspension after being handed a Grade F charge for ‘verbal abuse’, due to evidence submitted by a Broncos player.
He’ll face an independent tribunal tomorrow night, and if found guilty, faces a minimum suspension of six games.
This weekend, we saw six sin-bins across the six games.
Warrington prop Lachlan Fitzgibbon was handed a yellow for “forceful and dangerous” contact in his side’s 16-8 win over Catalans Dragons, a type of incident the RFL has looked to punish heavily this season.
Huddersfield Giants’ Oliver Russell was sent for ten for a high shot, contributing to his side losing for the fifth time in a row, this time to Leigh Leopards.
Frankie Halton of Leigh was also sin-binned, this being for a late hit in his side’s victory over the Giants, whilst both Brad Dwyer (tripping) and Ed Chamberlain (persistent foul play) also had a ten-minute sit down in that game.
Other incidents which caught the Panel’s eye include Mikey Lewis lashing out at Hakim Miloudi as the pair clashed on Sunday.

It looked like Fitzgibbon might be in hot water, but it’s his teammate who’s copped the only ban this week, and it’s a huge blow for Warrington Wolves as George Williams has been handed a one-match ban for Grade B Dangerous Contact as he’s at the higher end of the grade.
Five other Grade B charges were handed out, but have only ended up getting players £250 fines.
Those go to Frankie Halton and Brad Dwyer of Leigh Leopards, George Griffin of Castleford Tigers, Will Lovell of London Broncos and Luis Roberts.
The full list of charges can be seen below.
