Super League disciplinary decisions confirmed as Hull KR captain learns his fate

With Monday rolling around again, it’s time for teams to learn which Super League disciplinary decisions have been made by the RFL.

Last week, five players were banded bans: Lachlan Fitzgibbon, Moses Mbye and Matty Lees, Jed Cartwright and Jai Whitbread.

Whitbread’s was controversial, as was his yellow card against Wigan Warriors that may have sent the League Leaders’ Shield to the Brick Community Stadium for another year.

This week, Hull KR, travelling to Leigh Leopards, won 24-0 , while Wigan Warriors also nilled their opponents by dispatching of Leeds Rhinos 38-0.

The other game on Friday night saw St Helens see off a young Castleford Tigers side 40-4, putting them in a good position.

Then, on Saturday, Salford Red Devils confirmed their play-off place with a resounding 58-4 away at the MKM Stadium, where Marc Sneyd kicked his 1,000th goal of his career.

This, incredibly, was not the biggest win of the evening, as Warrington Wolves beat Huddersfield 66-0 at John Smith’s Stadium, soon after conceding 60 to Salford Red Devils.

Finally, Catalans Dragons kept their play-off hopes alive with a narrow come-back victory over London Broncos – but not by enough to stop Hull FC going bottom on points difference.

The big news is Elliot Minchella being banned for two games due to a Grade C Head Contact charge, at the higher end due to previous charges.

If Hull KR finish in the top two, they won’t play an eliminator – meaning he’d miss both the semi-final and the Grand Final, if they make it.

The only other ban was for Catalans Dragons’ Arthur Romano, who has a one-match penalty notice for Grade B Head Contact (higher end).

Meanwhile, four players were handed £250 fines for Grade B charges.

Niall Evalds of Hull KR and Jack Billington of Huddersfield Giants were both given Grade B Head Contact charges, while Danny Walker of Warrington Wolves had a Grade B Dangerous Contact charge.

Uniquely, Huddersfield Giants man Olly Russell’s Grade B charge was for an intentional trip.
