Super League Disciplinary concerns for Leeds Rhinos duo and Hull FC forward after sin bins

Round 20 of Super League saw a change at the top with Hull KR beating Warrington Wolves as well as other key results with playoff implications but the disciplinary panel will meet today to rule on any discretions.

The action once again began on Thursday but this time saw two games played with both Wigan Warriors and Leigh Leopards in action, ahead of their rearranged clash tomorrow night.

Both sides won with Wigan overcoming a scare against Huddersfield to win 28-14, whilst Leigh Leopards defeated Castleford 20-10 to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.

Friday saw Hull KR put in a season-best performance to go top of Super League as they beat Warrington Wolves 22-4, but the best performance of the weekend actually came on Sunday.

London Broncos managed to win just their second game of the season as they beat Catalans 12-10 with a brilliant performance at home.

Saturday’s games had seen St Helens snap their losing streak with a 46-6 hammering over Hull FC, whilst Leeds Rhinos playoff hopes dwindled as Salford Red Devils beat them 22-16.

Across the six Super League games, five yellow cards were shown with all of those incidents and others set to be looked at in today’s disciplinary meeting.

Three of the five sin bins came in the game between Salford and Leeds with Tim Lafai’s yellow card coming just minutes into the game for a high shot on Lachlan Miller.

Rhyse Martin would then be sent for ten for a tip tackle on Jayden Nikorima, who Brad Arthur had claimed “dived”, whilst James Bentley also went for ten in the second half for a high shot.

Several high shots in Super League carried big disciplinary results last week including Jonny Lomax who copped a three-game ban after tribunal.

Brad Fash saw yellow on Saturday for a late hit on Saints’ James Bell, whilst Sylvester Namo was another to be shown yellow for a tip tackle.

The Match Review Panel will meet today to assess all of the Super League disciplinary issues from the Round 20 games but those five who were sin-binned may well be on edge.
