Super League Disciplinary: Brad Fash learns fate after alleged “testicle grab”

The Super League disciplinary process has taken place and Hull FC’s Brad Fash has learned his fate after allegations were made that he grabbed the testicles of an opponent.

They were the allegations made by Hull KR captain Elliot Minchella after the Robins beat FC 24-10 in the third and final derby of the season. Minchella informed Hull Daily Mail of the incident that he referred to as being “not tough”.

Speaking on the situation, Minchella said: “It’s a tough game and it doesn’t need to be made any tougher by doing that. I think there’s a photo doing the rounds of me getting grabbed in a certain area of my body, which is unacceptable in my opinion.

“I knew about it straight away. I mean, I’m not the most blessed person, but you certainly feel it! Look, 100 per cent I felt it. I was a bit confused with the decision of the referee to give me a sin bin, but I think what happened—the incident—is totally unacceptable.”

The RFL have now confirmed that the incident has not drawn a charge after the Match Review Panel acted out the Super League disciplinary process.

The Match Review Panel released their findings earlier this afternoon and following a busy round of action in terms of Super League disciplinary notions, a total of four players were handed bans.

Those four men were Andre Savelio, Sam Hewitt, Edwin Ipape and Adam Keighran with the first two earning two-game bans and the last two simply picking up one-game bans.

Both Savelio and Hewitt were handed Grade D charges of Head Contact and Punching respectively, picking up a £250 fine as well as their bans. Meanwhile, both Ipape and Keighran earned Grade B charges for Dangerous Contact and a Dangerous Throw/Lift respectively.

Five other players were charged, all receiving £250 fines for Grade B charges, but it was the failure to charge Brad Fash that caught the eyes most, specifically after the image circulated that seemed to certify that the allegations were to be believed.

Both Fash and Denive Balmforth, the two Hull FC players sin binned in the derby, are available to play against Wigan this Friday.

At times this sport is a joke. That idea to sell to the NRL, do it, quickly, let’s have some professionals run the sport. You can see the grab! Fash should be out until next season for that.
