Hull KR forward Jared Waerea-Hargreaves has been hit with a two-match suspension by Super League disciplinary.
The prop is one of three Super League players to be charged this week by the Match Review Panel, with one more ban being handed out.
Waerea-Hargreaves has been punished for making contact to the head of Tyler Dupree during Friday’s clash top of the table clash with Wigan Warriors. The New Zealander was the ball carrier and put his bumpers up as he approached contact.
However, with his arms raised, his elbow struck Dupree in the head causing the Wigan man to leave the field for a HIA, which he passed. The incident went unpunished by the match officials at the time but it was scrutinised after the game and the Match Review Panel have deemed the contact to have strayed over the line.
As such, Waerea-Hargreaves has been handed a Grade C charge and five penalty points and given his previous, he now has a two-game ban. It means, unless the Robins successfully appeal, he will now miss games against Leeds Rhinos and St Helens.
They’re two games which Rovers need to win to make sure of the League Leaders’ Shield and his absence will come as a blow.
Taane Milne is the other man suspended this week. He’s been given a one match ban for foul and abusive language towards a match official, which landed him a yellow card on Sunday against St Helens.
He’ll miss this week’s game against Warrington Wolves, while he has also been given a fine.
Tevita Pangai Jr has also been given a fine for a Grade B late contact on passer charge from last Thursday’s loss to Warrington Wolves.

Just rubbing salt in the wound for all Wigan fans. It makes a laughing stock of the sport. Not even considered a penalty by the officials on the day, yet everyone could see the elbow contact to the head. Will Kendal and Jack Smith be suspended for their incompetence?
