Hull FC man Cade Cust has been spared a ban by the RFL’s match review panel following his sending off in Good Friday’s Hull derby. The Black and Whites half-back is one of 12 Super League players to have been charged by disciplinary this week, with Cust being handed a Grade C head contact charge.
However, given the red card he received, he has been given just three penalty points, meaning a fine has been deemed to be a sufficient punishment. The news will come as a huge relief to head coach John Cartwright, who has also seen Jordan Rapana charged on a two occasions for late contact on the passer.
Each incident was a Grade A offence and comes with nothing more than one penalty point and a fine, ensuring Hull enter next week’s game with no disciplinary issues hanging over them.
In fact, only one Super League player has been suspended for their actions over Rivals Round with Edwin Ipape being handed a Grade C charge for dangerous contact. Ipape will miss Leigh’s clash with Salford Red Devils on Saturday as a result, while he has been handed five disciplinary points.
Ipape has been charged twice this week, with the hooker being handed a Grade A late contact on the passer charge, too, which takes his total points to 7.5 for the season.
Jez Litten is the only Hull KR man to be charged, with the hooker being given a Grade A tripping charge, that’s despite a clip of a melee surfacing online which has led to Jared Waerea-Hargreaves being involved in striking allegations.
Serious About RL has been told that the incident was looked at and examined by the Match Review Panel, but nothing conclusive could be seen.
Moses Mbye and Liam Farrell have both been handed Grade A late contact on passer charges from the Wigan Warriors-St Helens derby, with no further action being taken. Warrington Wolves’ Jordan Crowther, Leeds Rhinos’ Cooper Jenkins and Catalans Dragons’ pair Olly Partington and Mathieu Laguerre have also been found guilty of the same offence with Partington having enough points for a fine.
Fouad Yaha has also collected a Grade A charge for contrary behaviour, while Salford Red Devils loanee Harvey Makin picks up a Grade A for head contact.
