The Super League have confirmed the fixtures for Rounds six, seven and eight of the 2021 season, including the broadcast schedule.
With the UK government’s roadmap setting Monday 17 May as the earliest date fans are expected to return to stadia, a number of clubs have opted to move their fixtures to this date to hopefully be able to welcome fans back into stadiums for the first time in over fourteen months*.
Leeds Rhinos will kick off round six when they face Wakefield Trinity at Emerald Headingley Stadium on Friday 14 May (7:45 KO).
On Monday 17 May, Sky Sports will broadcast Warrington Wolves versus Huddersfield Giants at the Halliwell Jones Stadium – a fixture which could be one of the first sporting events to welcome fans back this year.
Also that night, St Helens take on Salford Red Devils; Leigh Centurions face Wigan Warriors and Castleford Tigers against Hull KR.
The Bank Holiday weekend at the end of May will also see plenty of action, with three games split between Saturday and Sunday, including the champions’ visit to Catalans Dragons.
Round eight returns with a normal schedule with games on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This includes Castleford against Leeds, and
Ken Davy, interim executive chairman, Super League, said “We can’t wait to see our passionate fans back in grounds cheering their team on. We’ve waited a long time and that day cannot come soon enough, we will be another step closer to some kind of normality. We’re grateful for Sky Sports continued support and flexibility.”
