Super League confirm total of 12 positive Covid-19 tests this week

Super League has confirmed that there has been a total of 12 positive results from this week’s round of routine Covid-19 testing.

Of the 560 tests taken across the 11 Super League clubs, match officials and other relevant staff, 548 came back negative, with the 12 positives spread across three clubs.

As confirmed yesterday, seven of those were from Catalans Dragons – five players and one member of staff – which led to the cancellation of their home game against Hull FC.

Wakefield head coach Chris Chester has also confirmed that Trinity have had four positive tests this week – three players and one member of staff.

Changes to the testing cycle at some clubs as a result of additional fixtures, plus the additional round of testing at Wigan Warriors following the postponement of their fixture against Catalans scheduled for October 15, mean that the final figures for the week starting October 11 were: 652 tests, 642 negative, 10 positives spread across seven clubs.
