St Helens are potentially facing a third consecutive defeat which was unthinkable when they defeated Penrith Panthers in the World Club Challenge.
The Super League and World Champions have been doing it tough and tonight they face the huge challenge of taking on the league leaders Warrington Wolves who enter the game as a wounded animal after losing to Wigan Warriors last week.
As Saints face a third consecutive defeat questions have been raised about them but Wigan boss Matt Peet has said that he still believes that the Saints will still be in the mix at the end of the season.
He said on Sky Sports:
“I actually think St Helens will win. I think the fact Paul Vaughan is banned the way he is playing and Matty Lees plays, I think that will be the deciding factor.
“I think two really quality teams and electric backfields on both sides but I think St Helens might just take it through the middle there but who knows I think it will be a fantastic game.
“I think people are reading too much into St Helens’ results. We went to Hull KR in Round One and we got turned over so that result is not as bad as it may appear, they will be in the mix at the end of the year.”
