Super League coach says his side conceded two tries that shouldn’t have been given

Two derbies in two weeks for Leigh Leopards.

They take on Salford Red Devils this week after coming up short against Wigan Warriors last week in a game where coach Adrian Lam felt his side were hard done by with two tries scored by Wigan that shouldn’t have been given.

“I think I said in the media straight after the game that sometimes matches and performances like that you can learn a lot from,” Lam said on the club’s YouTube channel.

“I think there was a lot of good things that we did in that game and it just shows us that as a group we’re not far off, but there’s still a lot of hard work to be done.

“I thought we went with them for a long period of time, scoring first certainly helped us in the game and I thought Wigan’s two first half tries were no try, so it could have been a completely different story at half time and therefore a different second 40 minutes.

“The better team won on the night obviously but we got a lot out of it and as a new group only seven games into the competition, I feel very confident that we’ll get a lot out of that game and moving forward it’ll put us in a better position.”

For the second time this season the Leopards host Salford on Saturday.
