Super League coach reveals transfer talks with huge NRL star

We have seen the likes of Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors, Warrington Wolves, Hull KR and Hull FC confirm some major transfer news in recent times.

Leeds have confirmed the signing of Mickael Goudemand and are surprisingly in talks with former Huddersfield Giants hooker Danny Levi.

Speaking of Leeds and former Huddersfield hookers, Kruise Leeming is headed to Wigan alongside Adam Keighran, Sam Walters and Tiaki Chan.

Warrington have brought in NRL star Lachlan Fitzgibbon for 2024 from the Newcastle Knights beating four other clubs to his signature.

Meanwhile, the Hull clubs have announced some immediate news with the Robins signing Brad Schneider and Hull FC losing Josh Griffin to Wakefield Trinity.

Turning back to Hull KR, they have done some excellent business for 2024 and it was nearly even better with Willie Peters confirming transfer talks with NRL star Tyson Frizell:

“Yeah, no, there definitely was [some truth behind the rumours.]

“We had a few conversations with Tyson and his management and yeah, it was a decision he had to make and obviously stayed in Newcastle.

“But I think we’re showing where we’re going as a club because from what’s been reported, it was us and Newcastle in that last week that he had to make the decision on.

“So I think it shows that where we’re heading as a club. I think it shows that we can attract some big names.

“Obviously Tyson staying at Newcastle but I’ve got a really good relationship with the guys there, an affiliation with the club and he’s settled, he bought a house but he’s certainly, we were certainly in the picture and it was a tough decision for him to make. But he’s staying at Newcastle.

“I think it shows where we’re heading as a club.”

He would have been another major signing for the club. However, they will have to do with Peta Hiku, Oliver Gildart and AJ Wallace – so not bad at all.

The Robins are looking ahead to a huge game this weekend as they take on Wigan Warriors in the Challenge Cup semi-finals at Headingley on Sunday covered by BBC Sport.
