Super League coach reveals that two signings could be secured by January

Steve McNamara has a bit of a rebuild on his hands,

Having allowed Josh Drinkwater to leave to Warrington Wolves, agreeing a mutual end to Dylan Napa’s time in Perpignan as Samisoni Langi left for Wakefield Trinity and a host others with Corentin Le Cam headed for rugby union in 2023.

But this has left the Dragons with recruitment to do with a prop and centre or halfback needed.

Speaking to L’Independant, Head Coach Steve McNamara revealed signings could be coming in in January:

“We will bring in between five and six players from the reserve team with us for the resumption on January 2. We’re not going to rush, we’re going to calculate. We know where we are, we know where we want to go and what we need to do to progress. We will wait until we have the whole group to find the right person we will miss. At the beginning of January we will release the squad and it will probably still be missing one or two players.”

The Dragons have recently missed out on Featherstone Rovers star Joey Leilua and former Salford Red Devils and Warrington Wolves forward Ben Murdoch-Masila.
