Rohan Smith has labelled Leeds Rhinos’ clash with Huddersfield Giants “a mini Grand Final.”
The Leeds boss was referencing the fact that both team’s play-off hopes dangle by a thread going into the game.
“It’s huge Yeah, it’s massive for both teams. We’re in you know similar similar position and for us we’re in a similar position to to where we were last season,” he said.
“We played Huddersfield at a similar time last season away from home as well and that was a that was a crucial game for us where we we didn’t get the performance that night, but our home form has been strong despite some results going the other way.
“We’ve played well against good teams in recent times at home. We expect Huddersfield to be very hungry and it’s a pivotal game for the season.
“It’s a mini Grand Final for both teams.”
He underlined this describing it as “a big battle.”
He said: “It’s going to be a big game, big opportunity for both clubs. Huddersfield are a strong team, they’ve got a great roster, they know what they’re trying to accomplish, so it’s going to be a big battle and I’d expect it to be a good, hard-fought game.”
