Super League coach delivers update on his own future

Adrian Lam is a terrific coach.

In his first season at Wigan Warriors he led them to the League Leaders’ Shield before guiding them to the Grand Final.

He was also named Coach of the Year.

Lam then joined Leigh Leopards last year and guided them to promotion losing just one league game and he now has them in the play-off spots.

Lam has now confirmed that he will be at the club until the end of 2024 at least.

“I’ve signed a two year deal so I’ve got this year and next year as well so I’m not going anywhere. I’m loving rugby league more than I’ve ever done at the moment,” he said on the club’s YouTube channel.

“I think the town and the supporters haven’t had much to cheer about of late and the way things are working out for us, and we know it can turn quickly, but it’s a real good time at the moment to be a Leigh player, staff member, coach or fan at the moment.

“We’ve got to keep that ticking over because it’s a sleeping giant here with the local community. Being close to Wigan and part of the borough as well, I just think for Super League and rugby league in general Leigh winning games is great for the sport and for people on the outside looking in and seeing an underdog doing okay.”

contract had been announced during Grand Final week of Championship last week
