Super League coach confirms they are looking at signings as they are tipped for huge transfer

Leigh Leopards have been tipped to bring in a former Super League Champion and an England international.

This comes as it was reported that two former Super League players could be set to return to Super League sooner rather than later.

Both of them are centres who will bring plenty of quality to any side they join as a potential mid-season recruit.

This comes from Jon Wells on Sky Sports who said:

“Dean Whare and Oliver Gildart both could be headed back to Super League. Gildart is currently sat on the sidelines not getting much game time in the NRL.

Wells went on to tip the Leigh Leopards, who have received brilliant funding from owner Derek Beaumont, to sign Gildart.

They are unable to sign Whare with their quota spots for 2023 full. Only Castleford Tigers, after Jake Mamo’s retirement, Catalans Dragons, Warrington Wolves and Salford Red Devils have quota spots open.

Wells said on Sky: “Could the Leigh Leopards be in the frame.”

Meanwhile, this week Leigh boss Adrian lam also confirmed that they are still looking for signings.

When asked on the club’s YouTube channel, he said:

“Absolutely. Looking every, every week. It’s something that we’ll continue to do over the next year or two years to build a squad.

“We understand where we’re at currently but we’re always striving to be better in all areas and if that means adding to the group then we will.”
