Super League club working alongside rugby union giants in pre-season

Since they arrived on the scene in Super League, Catalans Dragons have pushed boundaries and always strived to cement themselves not only in the league but in wider sporting consciousness.

They have done so with a number of high profile signings including the likes of Stacey Jones at the start of their journey, Wigan Warriors star Sam Tomkins in 2019, James Maloney in 2020, Mitchell Pearce last year and Adam Keighran yesterday as the Dragons pulled off a major coup in bringing in the versatile Sydney Roosters centre.

It has also been revealed that Wigan Warriors legend Shaun Edwards is often involved with the club due to the fact he lives in the area whilst working for France Rugby Union as their defence coach.

Speaking of rugby union, the Dragons have taken their pre-season away from Perpignan to be involved with Toulon, a very successful French rugby union side.

They won three titles in a row last decade and played in the European Challenge Cup Final as recently as 2020.

They, like the Dragons, know all about quick growth ending a long wait for glory at the start of last decade with something of a dynasty led by Jonny Wilkinson.

The Dragons are over in Toulon and working with Toulon in pre-season.

It will be some time until they return to Perpignan.
