Super League club tease major signing

A number of dramatic transfers happened before the 2023 deadline involving Wigan Warriors, Leeds Rhinos, Castleford Tigers and Salford Red Devils but one club have now teased a major signing of their own.

Now that the deadline has passed, any signings now made cannot come into affect until the 2024 season.

A number of clubs have confirmed signings for next year already such as Wigan who have been a busy club in the market whilst Leeds have drafted in Catalans Dragons’ Mickael Goudemand.

The Dragons seem central to a lot of business with so many exits confirmed and a move for Hull FC’s Chris Satae as well as a reported move for Theo Fages.

They are the club who have teased a further signing with a cryptic video on Twitter about plane departures.

The Dragons have also been linked with NRL star Matt Moylen as well as Fages as aforementioned. Both would be key with Mitchell Pearce and Tyrone May headed for the exit door.

A signing would be the perfect positive news for the club to offset the immediate departure Siua Taukeiaho this week.

The Tongan prop arrived at the club this season and made 7 appearances for the Dragons in an injury-blighted season.

The club noted that they would like to wish him all the best for the future.

Siua Taukeiaho said: “It’s been a disappointing season with the number of injuries I have had. I love this place, I wish I could have stayed longer but I need to put my family first. I remain 100% focused on my objectives with the club until the end of the season. I will do everything to get my body right to help the team to win the competition. I haven’t signed anywhere else. If that happens, both clubs will then negotiate.”

Owner Bernard Guasch added: “We’ve had a discussion with Siua and we understand his decision to return to Australia. He is very frustrated with his season and would have liked to contribute more to the club’s performances. We know he is going to do everything he can to be competitive for the last games of the season and to help the team to achieve its objectives.”
