Super League club swoops for North Queensland Cowboys forward

North Queensland Cowboys’ Shane Wright is set for a move to the Salford Red Devils in Super League, according to the Townsville Bulletin.

Wright – who has been at the Cowboys since making his NRL debut back in 2017 – has reportedly signed a two-year deal with the Lancashire club.

2021 has been somewhat of a breakthrough year for the forward, having started 16 games under new head coach Todd Payten with 41 appearances now under his belt.

Salford are enjoying something of a rebuilding stage, with fellow NRL star Brodie Croft inking a deal with the Red Devils having found options limited at the Brisbane Broncos.

It is yet another coup for Richard Marshall’s side, whose rebuilding process seems to be growing pace with every passing transfer.

The Red Devils currently find themselves third bottom of Super League with just five wins from 16 games so far in 2021, but the signing of Wright will certainly go down well at the AJ Bell Stadium.
