Super League club “positions themselves” to pull off huge transfer

Transfer stories seem to be the topic of the time. There are reports that Hull KR are edging closer to a huge NRL signing having already signed former Warrington Wolves star Peta Hiku, ex-Wigan Warriors star Oliver Gildart and former Castleford Tigers target AJ Wallace from Bradford Bulls.

Meanwhile Leeds Rhinos have drafted in Mickael Goudemand from Catalans Dragons who appear to be the centre of the transfer sagas with Tiaki Chan leaving the club for Wigan Warriors in 2024 alongside Sam Walters and former Leeds and Huddersfield Giants star Kruise Leeming.

Wigan are also expected to sign Adam Keighran from the Dragons and the French side are also reportedly set to lose Matt Ikavalu.

Interestingly, the Dragons though have of course begun work on targeting some new faces especially in the halves with Mitchell Pearce and Tyrone May linked with huge NRL moves.

So, the Dragons need a halfback or two and have reportedly made a move for Huddersfield Giants star Theo Fages.

The French halfback is a former Super League Champion with his career peaking at St Helens with back to back Grand Final wins as well as a Challenge Cup Final triumph after leaving Salford Red Devils for the Saints.

He joined Huddersfield Giants ahead of last year and has an option to extend his stay at the John Smith’s Stadium but this has yet to be agreed upon according to L’Independent in France who have reported that the Dragons have positioned themselves to pull off a huge transfer and bring Fages back home to France.

It would be a huge transfer and would leave the Giants with an interesting question with plenty of spine players at the club already.

They have Jake Connor, Tui Lolohea and Olly Russell contracted to the club for 2023 as well as new signing George Flanagan Jr.
