Super League club miss out on two signings

Castleford Tigers coach Andy Last has confirmed the club are struggling to get the signing that they want.

In fact, as he underlined this, he told BBC Radio Leeds that the Tigers had missed out on two players who “knocked them back.”

He said:

“Well there’s three strands to it, you’ve got to have the money – which we’ve got. Then you’ve got to identify the player, we’ve identified a couple of players but they’ve knocked us back. You’ve got to get all three aligned and it’s a challenge.

“Wakefield have obviously made a couple of additions recently and some guys are in there that could potentially strengthen their squad, but we need to make sure that we select the right player and make sure he’s someone who can help the team and cover a couple of positions as well. We are looking but it’s challenging.”

He also confirmed that the club are looking everywhere for new signings:

“We are looking everywhere but we need to make sure it’s the right decision that will improve the team, not only strengthening numbers, but improving the team.

“We are looking but at the moment nothing has fit the bill.”
