Super League club make shock transfer move for winger

Super League club London Broncos are still interested in transfer business

Newly promoted Super League club London Broncos have reportedly made a move to sign Carcassonne winger Georgy Gambaro from the French Elite One Championship after scoring five tries so far in the 2023/24 season.

The club reportedly reached out to Georgy Gambaro, inquiring about the French player hoping he could potentially join the London Broncos.

Although he wasn’t actively seeking a professional opportunity, he decided to keep an open mind about any possibilities that might arise. However, things did not work out as planned with the proposal coming too late, with a hasty departure not an option.

Despite this, the club and Gambaro had positive exchanges, and they both agreed to remain in touch for a possible move in the future.

Thus, Gambaro will now remain in France where he will link up with former Wakefield Trinity and NRL star Kevin Proctor who finally completed his move to Carcassonne last week debuting in defeat against the Albi Tigers.

During the off-season, there has been a lot of talk about the future of Wakefield Trinity’s winger, Lee Kershaw. However, it seems like the rumours will finally come to an end as the newly promoted London Broncos have confirmed that they have acquired Kershaw on a trial basis. Kershaw will be spending the next four weeks with the team in the capital. This is a big surprise as many people expected Kershaw to join Leeds Rhinos after he was seen training with them.

However, the club were clear that they were not in a position to sign Kershaw and he has now begun a trial period with London which is likely to see him agree a permanent deal with the club.

He will likely take on the vacant number two shirt ahead of the new season if everything goes according to plan and club and player agree on a deal.
