Super League club extend Challenge Cup ticket sales due to amazing “demand”

This weekend we will see Leeds Rhinos’ Headingley play host to Wigan Warriors and Hull KR as the two collide in a huge semi-final and this comes after Leigh Leopards and St Helens go to Warrington Wolves’ Halliwell Jones Stadium in what will be two amazing Challenge Cup semi-finals.

Leigh’s story is truly inspiring. Last year they tasted what it could be like in a Challenge Cup Final when they won the 1895 Cup Final against Featherstone Rovers at the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium in the curtain raiser for Huddersfield Giants vs Wigan Warriors in the Challenge Cup Final.

They are chasing Derek Beaumont’s dream of leading his side out in a Challenge Cup Final and making good on the promise of their exciting season.

But they will take on the Super League and World Champions St Helens and the Saints will be backed by hordes of fans.

Paul Wellens has revealed amazing ticket sales by the club on Saints TV.

“All the 5,000 tickets sold again, it’s just incredible support from the town and the people of the town. Not just people of the town, but there’s lots of fans coming from here and everywhere as well.

“We as a club and we as a playing group are so grateful for that support and I’m sure they’ll add a great deal to the atmosphere on Saturday because I know there’s a group of players there who’ll need that support and certainly feed off it as well.”

However, following this Leigh Leopards revealed on Twitter that only “a few tickets remain” imploring fans to buy theirs if they want to be a part of history.

They have also sold thousands of tickets and have even extended the deadline to purchase these tickets due to high demand:

“Due to demand, we will now be allowing the final few tickets for tomorrows game, to be ordered up until 11am TOMORROW… These tickets MUST be collect by 12pm from our Ticket Office.”

The two meet live on BBC on Saturday before the meeting at Headingley on Sunday also on the BBC.

That game has also seen an amazing number of tickets sold. Hull KR alone have reportedly sold nearly 10,000 whilst Wigan are typically taking a big following too.
