Super League club confirms sensational Challenge Cup ticket sales

The road to Wembley has been an eventful one for Super League clubs, at the very first hurdle in fact some big names were dumped out with Wigan Warriors pulling off a famous win over Leeds Rhinos away whilst Warrington Wolves downed Catalans Dragons.

The quarter-finals meanwhile were riddled with red cards with Hull FC’s Josh Griffin sent off for dissent against Super League and World Champions St Helens.

Leigh Leopards meanwhile were reduced to 11 men for a spell against York with Zak Hardaker yellow carded after a red card for Kai O’Donnell.

Meanwhile, Wigan won with 12 men after Kaide Ellis’ headbutt against Warrington Wolves.

Hull KR completed the semi-final line up.

Now they will take on Wigan at Headingley hoping for a repeat of their semi-final win on the ground back in 2015.

Meanwhile, second place Leigh Leopards take on St Helens at the Halliwell Jones.

All four ties will be covered live by BBC Sport. BBC1 will broadcast Leigh Leopards versus St Helens and Hull KR v Wigan Warriors will be on BBC2, while both Women’s semi-finals will be streamed live on BBCiPlayer. BBC Radio 5Live and regional BBC radio stations will also bring live action from the semi-finals.

Tickets went on sale straight after these details were confirmed.

Leigh Leopards are already impressing with 1,000 tickets sold by the club within a day.

On top of this owner Derek Beaumont has confirmed more tickets for the event will be released.

He said on Twitter:

“There will be an equal allocation of the standing tickets in the side stand once the segregation proposal is sanctioned. Should be available in next couple days club will announce as soon as able.”

After he said this, it was confirmed that Leigh had sold over 300 of their new allocation already.
