Super League club confirms amazing ticket sales for Challenge Cup semi-final

This weekend we will see some huge rugby league as Wigan Warriors meet Hull KR at the famous old home of Leeds Rhinos Headingley Stadium after Leigh Leopards collide with Super League and World Champions St Helens at the home of Warrington Wolves, the Halliwell Jones Stadium, to determine which two clubs will meet at Wembley in the Challenge Cup Final.

All four clubs have devoted fan bases and all four of these fan bases are eagerly anticipating the action this weekend.

Hull KR are hoping to replicate the success of their Challenge Cup semi-final win at Headingley in 2015, Wigan are chasing a 21st Challenge Cup win and a second consecutive one at that whilst St Helens are chasing four trophies in 2023 and a second Challenge Cup in three years.

But Leigh’s story is something of a fairytale given they were in the Championship 12 months ago.

They go into the game above St Helens in second spot but Saints fans are still confident.

In fact, Paul Wellens has revealed amazing ticket sales by the club on Saints TV.

“All the 5,000 tickets sold again, it’s just incredible support from the town and the people of the town. Not just people of the town, but there’s lots of fans coming from here and everywhere as well.

“We as a club and we as a playing group are so grateful for that support and I’m sure they’ll add a great deal to the atmosphere on Saturday because I know there’s a group of players there who’ll need that support and certainly feed off it as well.”

However, following this Leigh Leopards revealed on Twitter that only “a few tickets remain” imploring fans to buy theirs if they want to be a part of history.

They have also sold thousands of tickets.

The two meet live on BBC on Saturday before the meeting at Headingley on Sunday also on the BBC.

That game has also seen an amazing number of tickets sold. Hull KR alone have reportedly sold nearly 10,000 whilst Wigan are typically taking a big following too.

Both semi finals should be terrific.
