One Super League side have announced plans that they’re looking to build a new stadium in the near future.
That team is Huddersfield Giants who provided fans with plenty of updates from their end-of-season awards night last night.
The Giants reported the six players that would be leaving the club whilst also announcing the winners of each award with Huddersfield fan favourite Leroy Cudjoe taking home an impressive five accolades.
Perhaps most interesting was the update provided by owner Ken Davy who told fans that he plans to build a new stadium ‘within the near future’.
That was relayed to the club’s fans with a post on the official Huddersfield Giants’ X account.
It read: “Ken Davy has also announced that the club are looking to build their own stadium within the near future.”
That statement came following confirmation from Davy that he will return as chairman of the club for the 2025 season.

Huddersfield Giants currently play at the John Smith’s Stadium and have done so since 1994 but their failure to come close to filling it has been a major issue with regular crowds of less than 5,000 in the 24,500 venue.
It now seems that they will move to a purpose-built stadium that will likely have a far smaller capacity and thus better suit the Giants, something that would be a major boost to the club and the city of Huddersfield.

On Saturday’s coverage of their clash with Warrington, Sky Sports’ Brian Carney revealed that a new stadium was something that Davy was considering for Huddersfield Giants.
To that, Jon Wilkin said: “Call it Fartown. They had that. They’ve just been here that long, they haven’t grown into it, the fanbase hasn’t grown. Ken Davy must be tired of putting his money in because look at the investment over the last four years in particular.
“He splashed the cash, and brought big name players in. And you think about that and where he is now. He’s going right back to the start.
“You’ve got to respect somebody like Ken Davy who just throws his money into a club and keeps throwing it in because there’s so many compelling reasons not to isn’t there?”
