Super League club confirm interest in Hull FC star

Things once looked bleak at Wakefield Trinity when they were losing and being nilled by the likes of Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors and others at the start of the season however they have turned things around with famous wins over these two clubs as well as a triumph over Salford Red Devils to rekindle their season.

After losing 15 games in a row to start the season, they have won three of their last four including three home wins in a row.

This turnaround in form has been sparked by signings like David Fifita, Luke Gale and Romain Franco as well as former Hull KR fullback Will Dagger.

These men have helped the club turn things around and heap pressure on Castleford Tigers in the relegation battle.

Despite an injury to Luke Gale, there is a real positive feeling at the club boosted by reports that the club could be interested in drafting in Josh Griffin from Hull FC.

Speaking on BBC Radio Leeds after their win over Wigan Warriors, Mark Applegarth confirmed interest in the centre turned backrow who is still serving a long term ban for dissent against St Helens.

“He’s been talked about but he is still under contract at Hull FC,” said Applegarth.

“I use to play with Josh and his brother, Darrell. He grew up in Wakefield and it’s a that is club close to his heart.

“We get Michael Carter speaking to the relevant people and if there’s anything to announce then we’ll announce it.”
