St Helens are favourites to sign Matt Dufty, according to the West Australian.
The St George Illawarra fullback has been told by his club that he is no longer needed nor wanted at the club in 2022, with St Helens the driving force behind bringing Dufty to the UK.
Both Brisbane and Canberra have apparently cooled their interest with NRL options for the livewire running out.
The move would pave the way for Lachlan Coote to return to Australia as has been touted for the past few months.
