Super League club chasing two huge targets claims Jon Wells

Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors, Hull KR and Warrington Wolves have all made big announcements which have caught the eye when it comes to transfer talk and rugby league news whilst there are more transfer rumours such as Jake Clifford at Hull FC, Lachlan Lam at Leigh Leopards and potential incomings at St Helens.

But the big incomings have been Lachlan Fitzgibbon at Warrington, Brad Schneider at Hull KR and Mickael Goudemand at Leeds.

However, it has been Wigan who have made the vast majority of the announcements.

They have drafted in former Huddersfield Giants and Leeds hooker Kruise Leeming, Sam Walters and Tiaki Chan and reports suggest recruitment won’t be over just yet.

According to The Mole of Wide World of Sports, the Warriors are interested in Dolphins centre Brenko Lee which could spell the end of one player’s time at the DW Stadium.

The Tongan international and Queensland representative joined the NRL’s newest club for their inaugural season and according to the Notorious Mole, the club risk losing him to Wigan Warriors.

The 27-year-old could receive a long term deal at the DW Stadium according to the Mole.

He has another year left on his deal with the NRL club but they will allow him to leave if he secures the move to the Warriors for 2024.

One concern for the Warriors is Lee’s persistent injury problems.

He has struggled with his knees in the past. Wigan will be hoping he can get over that if he arrives in Super League.

Lee started his career with the Canberra Raiders scoring 12 tries in 15 games before joining the Canterbury Bulldogs for a one season spell which saw him make 18 appearances.

He has since played for Gold Coast Titans, Melbourne Storm and the Brisbane Broncos.

In total he has made nearly 100 NRL appearances.

He is not the only centre Wigan are chasing however with former Sydney Roosters centre Adam Keighran also of interest according to L’Independent.

The centre has been one of the signings of the season over in Perpignan.

Now these reports have been backed up by Jon Wells on Sky Sports who claimed that these two are targets Wigan are seriously considering,
