Super League club chasing major signing

Huddersfield Giants' major transfer business saw them sign Adam Clune

We have seen the likes of Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors, Warrington Wolves, Hull KR and Hull FC confirm big transfer stories lately as new rumours appear to be making the rounds every day.

George Burgess to Castleford Tigers was the latest rumour yesterday from Rugby League Live.

Meanwhile, Huddersfield Giants are continually linked with a move for Adam Swift. Ethan Ryan meanwhile expected to also leave the city of Hull and join Salford Red Devils.

Paul Rowley’s team are working to try and nail down Brodie Croft whilst Leigh Leopards are trying to do the same with Lachlan Lam with NRL clubs chasing both halfback.

However, one of Super League’s star halfbacks has already been lost.

One of Super League’s most in form players, Jake Clifford has looked like the best number seven in Super League.

Following this former Hull FC and Hull KR star Paul Cooke said he could return to the NRL and now a club has entered the race to sign him in the shape of his former club the North Queensland Cowboys.

Meanwhile, Wests Tigers, still looking for a halfback after Luke Brooks’ decision to join Manly Sea Eagles for 2024, are interested according to the Daily Telegraph who report:

“Wests Tigers have been offered Jake Clifford but a North Queensland homecoming looms more likely for the ex-Cowboys and Newcastle playmaker

“Clifford joined Hull FC this year but is expected to return to the NRL in 2024.

“The Cowboys have discussed signing the 25-year-old to add some depth to their halves.”

Now Jon Wells has reported on Sky Sports that the North Queensland Cowboys have made an offer for the halfback.

It was reported by the Hull Daily Mail that he has agreed to this offer.

Following this, the Daily Telegraph in Australia has also confirmed the news down under making it almost certain that Clifford will be playing for North Queensland in 2024.

Now Sky Sports Jenna Brooks has confirmed Hull FC will look to replace him but will be patient to find the right signing.

The reports from Hull Daily Mail are that the Black and Whites have their target in the shape of Adam Clune from the Newcastle Knights.

However, they may be considering other options too. Hull KR’s Brad Schneider has been thrown about as well.
