Super League club bring in rugby union player on trial

Catalans Dragons have allowed a number of players leave lately.

Both Tanguy Zenon and Fouad Yaha have joined Hull KR to replace the injured Lachlan Coote as well as Ryan Hall who has surgery.

But the Dragons won’t be low on numbers any time soon with the club welcoming the arrival of a young rugby union outside back.

They announced that Nino Seguela will be at the club training with the first team on trial this week.

It will be interesting to see if he can catch the eye and gain a spot at the club or if he will return to rugby union when the season begins again in September,

The Dragons released the following statement:

“The Dragons confirm the presence of Nino Seguela with the professional group this week

“The USAP winger will train with the Dragons throughout the week.”

According to All Rugby, Seguela is a 21-year-old French rugby player standing at 1.77 m tall (5 ft 10 in) and weighing in at 81 kg (12 st 10.57 lb; 178.57 lb) , who currently plays for Union Sportive Arlequins Perpignanais in France as winger.

He has made six appearances in his career scoring three tries.
