Leigh Leopards are the latest club to show an interest in Salford Red Devils half-back Marc Sneyd, Serious About Rugby League understands.
Love Rugby League claim 2024 Betfred Super League and Grand Final runners-up Hull KR have enquired about the scrum-half, who was a Man of Steel nominee last season.
Clubs across the elite competition are keeping a close eye on Salford’s situation after they were granted an advance on their central funding for next year.
That has led to speculation Salford – who finished fourth in the table last term – may have to part with players to ease their financial problems.
Sneyd, who previously played for Castleford Tigers and Hull FC, is one of Red Devils’ most prized assets and has two years left on his contract.
But Leigh – whose Aussie stand-off Matt Moylan retired at the end of the 2024 campaign – are believed to be long-term admirers of Sneyd and could be keen to snare the goal-kicking play-maker, if he becomes available.
Salford Red Devils are anxious to retain their best players and would be unwilling to part with Sneyd, unless finances force their hand.
