Super League clash set for sell out crowd

There are perhaps no games as big as the original derby.

It sees a battle between local rivals St Helens and Wigan Warriors.

A meeting between two teams with storied history laden with silverware however neither side are where they want to be.

Expected to finish in the top two, the two teams have been more inconsistent than many expected.

Earlier this season Wigan looked odds on to dethrone the Champions but they have now hit a rocky patch whilst St Helens appear to have turned the corner.

After losing the Good Friday clash away, Saints will want to turn things around.

Tonight they get that chance at home in what is edging towards a sell out crowd according to reports from the St Helens Star.

It seems the growth in attendances in 2023 knows no end.

The team news was released on Wednesday.

Paul Wellens makes just one change to the side he named for last Sunday’s demolition over Huddersfield Giants, 48-6, at St James’ Park in Newcastle for Magic Weekend. Jake Wingfield steps out of the squad declaration with Morgan Knowles returning following a two-match suspension.

Matt Peet has made one change to his 21-player squad as forward Brad Singleton comes back into contention following a calf injury, replacing hooker Tom Forber.
