Super League boss addresses own future

Adrian Lam has addressed rumours about his own future in a pre-match press conference yesterday.

Wigan are set to play Warrington on Wednesday night, but Lam’s future was thrown up in the air this morning with rumours that the former PNG halfback is set to leave at the end of the year.

However, Lam isn’t stressing about being out of contract.

“I’ll talk to the club about that in the next couple of weeks – once I get through my players first – as I did last year in the same situation,” Lam said.

“It’s no different and, if there is any further news, the club and myself will inform everyone as soon as possible.”

With Lam being on a 12-month rolling contract, the decision on whether or not his contract will be extended rests on both parties.

“I think it’s a little bit of both to be fair. I’ve only wanted a 12-month contact as we’ve gone along.

“I was obviously first brought in on a 12-month contract with Shaun Edwards coming in for the second year.

“That has just rolled on and we’re in no different situation to what we were in the first year.

“Luckily enough, I have had the opportunity to be here for three years and I’m loving it at the moment.”

Wigan currently sit in fourth having won 10 of their 15 games so far, with three victories in a row.
