This weekend was always going to be big as Leeds Rhinos and Hull KR met in a golden point classic, Wigan Warriors downed Warrington Wolves and St Helens served up a classic encounter.
These games were vital to the make up of the top six but there is a real relegation battle going on at the other end of the table.
On Friday night Huddersfield Giants stopped Wakefield Trinity from making it three wins on the spin and four out of five. This gave Castleford Tigers the chance top open up a four point lead on Trinity in the race for survival.
Meanwhile, on Sunday it was back to focusing on the top of the table as Salford Red Devils met with Leigh Leopards.
But the action started on Thursday in a game described as a Grand Final dress rehearsal by some as league leaders Catalans Dragons edged Super League and World Champions St Helens in a controversial affair.
On Friday night Hull KR broke Leeds hearts with a drop goal from debutant and NRL starlet Brad Schneider in golden point.
Wigan meanwhile helped their hopes for the top two defeating Warrington who remain outside the top four and Huddersfield defeated Wakefield.
Saturday saw Castleford miss the chance to move four points clear of their West Yorkshire rivals in the relegation battle.
Meanwhile on Sunday, Leigh Leopards underlined their title credentials and hurt Salford’s play-off hopes with a 24-22 win.

The answer would be yes with three five figure crowds confirmed at Leeds, Wigan and Hull FC.
St Helens registered a strong crowd but the figure of which hasn’t been confirmed.
