Super League Attendances: St Helens, Warrington Wolves and Huddersfield Giants post impressive numbers

Well, Super League round five is done and dusted and what another cracking weekend of rugby league it was.

First, Leeds Rhinos were hammered at home by Hull FC on Thursday night before St Helens overcame Warrington Wolves with ease on Friday night.

Salford Red Devils just couldn’t claw back a big deficit against Hull KR on Friday, too, whilst Wakefield Trinity won their first win of the season over Toulouse Olympique.

On Saturday, Huddersfield Giants and Castleford Tigers played out a thrilling, see-saw game and then Catalans Dragons and Wigan Warriors rounded off the night with a massive win for the French side.

There were a number of huge attendances over the weekend, too, with St Helens and Warrington drawing in over 16,000 fans – an incredible number considering it was a Friday night game live on Sky, with a large number of travelling Wolves fans at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

Catalans also continue to churn out impressive numbers despite the horrendous weather in the south of France with almost 7,500 filling the Stade Gilbert Brutus.

Huddersfield’s attendances also continue to grow with nearly 6,000 heading to the John Smith’s Stadium for their fixture against Castleford.
