Super League attendances see Leeds Rhinos lead the way in Round 12

The attendances are in for round 12 of Super League, with league leaders Leeds Rhinos boasting the healthiest crowd.

The Rhinos welcomed Huddersfield Giants to AMT Headingley on Friday night, in a game where kick-off needed to be delayed due to traffic on the M62.

However, that wouldn’t affect the crowd too much, as 14,132 fans still managed to make the trip to see the Rhinos win comfortably.

On the same night, 8,260 fans saw Leigh Leopards defeat Hull FC. Helped by three tries from Josh Charnley and six other players getting on the scoresheet, Adrian Lam’s side won 42-6 to keep their pre-season goal of a top four spot alive.

The previous evening, Wigan Warriors caused plenty of debate after fielding a fully rotated side against Hull KR ahead of their meeting in the Challenge Cup Final on Saturday.

Craven Park played host to a heavy Hull KR win, with the Robins emerging as 62-4 winners. The crowd in that game is to be confirmed.

Saturday saw a triple header of action, starting with the shock of the weekend as Castleford Tigers surprised St Helens to win 30-10.

Jason Qareqare’s hat-trick helped them to that win, and the majority of the 7,721 fans in attendance would have gone home delighted.

Wakefield Trinity took a 22-18 win in France, defeating Toulouse Olympique as they earned revenge for their shock defeat in round one, before York Knights suffered defeat to Catalans Dragons in the evening kick-off.

A total of  3,259 fans watched Daryl Powell’s side take the win, with the York attendance still to be confirmed.

Sunday’s game saw 9,306 fans watch Bradford Bulls lose out to Warrington Wolves 26-12. Both sides saw sin-bins in that game, meaning there are a few players who will be sweating the disciplinary verdict later this afternoon.
