Super League clash achieves amazing sell out

There are some huge rivalries in rugby league such as St Helens and Wigan Warriors and Leeds Rhinos and Bradford Bulls but also rivalries created by history rather than location such as the rivalries between Leeds and Saints and Leeds and Wigan. But there is one rivalry that embodies the locality more than any other as Hull KR and Hull FC battle this week.

Two teams dreaming of the play-offs in 2023 but neither side currently occupy the top six.

But this is about a lot more than just the top six. It is bragging rights.

In the first hull derby of the season, Hull FC were embarrassed at home and they will be determined to change that but for Hull KR it is a crucial game to keep the feel good factor alive.

The Robins are also looking ahead to a Challenge Cup semi-final as well as having strong Super League aspirations.

Hull KR fans were very quick to purchase tickets for their semi-final against Wigan Warriors.

According to the club, it is the fastest selling game they have ever seen and they are already asking the RFL for further allocations at Headingley as they hope for a repeat of the 2015 semi-final at the same venue.

They have now sold out their first allocation and now further tickets have been released and have sold over 5,000 tickets.

On top of this, the Robins have sold every single ticket for the derby at Craven Park on Sunday.

For fans who now can’t attend, they can watch the game on Sky Sports at 12pm.
