Former Super League and England star Kevin Brown has predicted who will win the Super League semi-finals this week.
There are two fantastic games coming up, with Wigan Warriors taking on Leigh Leopards in a ‘Battle of the Borough’, while Hull KR continue their search for a first trophy since 1985 with a game against Warrington Wolves, coming off the back of winning a thriller against St Helens.
On the BBC 5 Live Rugby League podcast, Kevin Brown, who reached the 2018 Grand Final with Warrington Wolves, predicted who would win the two games.
He said about Hull KR vs Warrington: “Well, it’ll be a sell out, I’m sure, so we know it’s going to be a great atmosphere again.
“I think it’s going to be very similar to the Warrington and Saints game, I think it’ll be really, really close, two fantastic sides. I think if both play to their absolute best, I think Hull KR have shown this year that they can beat anyone, and if Mikey Lewis plays to his absolute best and George Williams does, that’ll be worth the entrance fee alone.
“I fancy Hull KR, just because they are at home. I think if it was at Warrington, I’d fancy Warrington, but just slightly fancy Hull KR in this one.”

Speaking about Wigan Warriors vs Leigh Leopards, Brown said: “I think it’s probably one step too far for Leigh.
“Wigan are healthy. They’ve rested up. They’ve been away to Bath and had a bit of a team bonding session there. And, you know, I’m sure they’ve tuned up very nicely. At home, Wigan are such a tough team to beat.
“But again, it’s just going to be such a good atmosphere because this little bus stop in Wigan that is Leigh, that people say… they’re not that little bus stop anymore, they are well followed, they’re a big club now and they’ll travel in thousands and it’s going to be a cracking game.
“I do think Wigan have just got a little bit too much quality in Bevan French and Junior Nsemba and the players like that, but you can’t really back against Leigh the way that they’re going – they’ll be more than competitive in this game as well.”
Therefore, he predicts a Wigan Warriors-Hull KR final – first versus second at Old Trafford, which would certainly be an exciting one.
