After the Super League play-off eliminators, the bookies have an updated list of favourites to take the Grand Final victory.
We’re down to just four contenders, as we head towards the semi-final stage this week, following a thrilling pair of Super League games at the weekend.
Leigh Leopards came out on top – largely thanks to Edwin Ipape’s brilliance – against Salford Red Devils at a packed Salford Community Stadium on Friday night, with a final score of 14-6 in favour of the Leopards, who not many predicted to make it to the play-offs just a few months ago.
The next day, we had even more drama, as a replay of an eliminator clash from last year saw Warrington Wolves vs St Helens, this time at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Here, it was drop-goal drama that sealed the victory for Wire, despite a late try and conversion from Jon Bennison on the hooter.
With just four left, let’s look at the updated odds from the bookies, to see who the favourites to land the Super League title are.
The bookies’ favourites for the Super League title following eliminator drama
Leigh Leopards – 12/1
According to Oddschecker, most bookies put the Leopards at 12/1, making them the outsiders still left in the competition.
However, they’ve spent the whole second-half of the campaign defying the odds, with 10 wins from 12 at the back-end of the regular season meaning they made the top six despite hardly any people backing them to do so.
They have a clash against Wigan Warriors this week, but don’t count them out just yet.
Warrington Wolves – 7/2
Warrington come into this play-off campaign in a much better place than they did the last one, or have done for a long time.
They’ve been unlucky to be behind two excellent sides in Wigan Warriors and Hull KR, but have already shown that they can compete with the top sides in their 40-4 victory over Wigan at the Brick Community Stadium this year.
They’re a long way ahead of Leigh in the odds, but not backed to make the final.
Hull KR – 11/4
The Robins were in the Championship less than a decade ago, but are faced with the reality of being one of the favourites to win the Grand Final, showing the wonderful progress they have made since then, both on and off the field.
They’re not favourites to win the whole thing, but they are backed by the bookies to make it to Old Trafford.
Wigan Warriors – 19/20
Who’s surprised? They won it last time, and they’ve looked formidable this year, save for a period where they were without a number of big names, including Jai Field and Bevan French.
They are, clearly, massive favourites to take the trophy and make it back-to-back Grand Final victories.

Warrington are a good bet at those odds, it would suit the RFL far better to have a Wigan vs Warrington final, that way they get lots of premium footage in front of a 50k+ crowd. ideal to market the Las Vegas game. If a certain referee gets the Rovers vs Warrington gets it’s a foregone conclusion.
