Stevo tips NRL star to make Super League move

It was reported by the Mole of Wide World of Sports that Wigan Warriors were prepared to make a huge offer to former St Helens star Luke Thompson.

He said they were willing to offer him a four year deal and more money than his current club the Canterbury Bulldogs can afford.

Many expect him to stay in Australia but former Sky Sports commentator Stevo has tipped him to come back to the UK: “Yeah that’s amazing isn’t it? They must have a few shillings under the pillow case or something.

“Look he struggled to get back into regular selection down under, I think it’s probably a wise move for him to come back to the UK because he really has now been playing on a regular basis over maybe the last two seasons.

“It wouldn’t surprise me that he comes back to the UK but what would surprise me is that they’re going to pay that amount of money that he’s on now.

“It must be difficult to sit on the sidelines and just keep counting money without having to play.

“It’s a nice figure to settle down with in any country, whether it be Timbuktu or wherever. They do get so used to the good weather and the beaches and it is difficult, but I think deep down inside if you’re a down-to-earth rugby league player you want to play each week.

“I know he’s getting a fistful of money but it’s not the same, you just want to prove that you can still do it and I hope he comes back and plays in the UK because he is a talented player. It just hasn’t worked out for him.”
