Stevo says relegation “the end of any club re-joining Super League” as he rules shock side out of relegation trouble

Tonight Castleford Tigers are chasing only their third win of the season as they travel to Leigh Leopards.

The Tigers are at risk of being cut adrift after Hull FC opened up a four point gap between them and the 11th placed Tigers last night by defeating Wigan Warriors.

Last time out the Tigers were close to an impressive win over Hull KR but came up short and former Sky Sports commentator Stevo believes Andy Last would have been disappointed.

“I must say Andy Last would’ve been a little bit disappointed,” he said on the Eddie and Stevo podcast.

“I’m glad they’re giving him the job on a full time basis but he will have looked at that video and said to himself that it wasn’t too bad.

“All right they lost but he could see there was quite a lot of development and they’ll get there, don’t worry, they’ll get there.”

Despite being 11th in the league, Stevo believes the Tigers aren’t in danger of relegation with winless Wakefield Trinity still bottom.

He also believes that relegation could be the end of a club trying to re-join Super League.

He said:

“I can’t see the Tigers being in any threat in regards to being relegated and let’s face it, relegation this year could see the end of any club re-joining Super League.”
